Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are made from composite elements. They are placed in front of the teeth and offer a less noticeable appearance than metal braces. Ceramic braces tend to blend in more with the natural color of the teeth and are more visually pleasing.

Ceramic braces can work just as effectively as traditional braces although the treatment time using ceramic braces are usually longer. Ceramic braces are known to be more comfortable and relaxing than wearing metal braces and gums have lesser irritation tendencies in ceramics. These braces may not be as durable as metal braces but they do not break off and remain on the teeth especially when put on with a plasma light. And since ceramic braces are more appealing, its cost is more expensive compared to metal braces.
Ceramic braces do not really cause teeth discoloration. It is the tiny rubber bands or what is known as the ligatures that are actually get stained when the patients smoke enormously and frequently eat and drink colored food. However, these ligatures which are used to hold the arch wire formed into the model structure of the teeth and then sequenced through the brackets are regularly changed by the dentist each time patient gets an adjustment.
The lifespan of ceramic braces is usually two years to two and a half years. Like other braces, after using the ceramic braces, the person should wear a retainer for six months to one year.
